Wix has been around forever. It was actually the first website builder I ever used, back in college. It was too expensive for me to keep up, so I had to drop my project later on.
It's still a robust tool, and it's got a massive set of integrate-able apps on an internal marketplace to let you add functionality to your site.
It's truly drag and drop, it's easy to use, and it has all the basics you need for a good website.
But it's not the best, and they have an enormous marketing budget behind them, so a ton of people use this tool despite having better options elsewhere.
It doesn't give you truly granular control over, for instance, different screen sizes.
It doesn't give you high level SEO control like you get with other builders like Webflow.
It's not a serious website design tool that a professional would use, but it is a good builder.
I don't think I'll ever use it for a future project, now that I understand the website space as well as I do from writing all these reviews. But I don't think it's a bad tool.
