They market themselves as the only website builder you could ever need, and that what you need to take your business to the next level is a website.

I don't like that positioning at all, Shopify and Wix use it too.

There are SO many other builders out there, and Squarespace honestly isn't very special. They just have a massive marketing budget. I get ads from them more than any other website builder.

Their offerings are decent, they have pre-built systems to sell all sorts of products, and their builder is clunky but more flexible than most basic systems.

But they don't have as much added functionality, for example, as shopify or Wix do for things like SEO and e-commerce.

It seemed like a pretty run of the mill tool, in most respects. I personally wouldn't use it for anything, there are better tools out there.
