Shopify is a strong option for an online store, but it's not the dream option for every scenario.
If you are just starting out, they do have a cheap $5 per month "Starter" option for just making a simple payment page. I do like the accessibility of that, but their lack of a free plan irks me.
They also try to lock you into a paid plan a gimmie $1 per month offer upfront.
But it is good at selling, it has a decent reputation for a reason. If you need an online store, and the price isn't too high for you, it's a solid option.
I don't think I'll ever use it though. If I need a payment page, I'll use Gumroad. If I need a simple store, I use Carrd and Stripe. If I need a serious store, I use Webflow.
