Clappia is actually kind of interesting, I wasn’t expecting it.

It’s got functionality you don’t really see elsewhere, despite it’s lacking user interface and general designability.

It’s built for simple internal business or field apps, and it seems to have everything you’d need.

You can embed apps you create on a website, which I always appreciate, and you can download them to mobile devices.

The one feature that stood out to me was the NFC scanner. You have to download Clappia’s mobile app, and it only works on Android, but you can scan NFC tags as part of completing a form, which is surprisingly unique.

There are a few other things, like scanning QR codes, but generally it’s got some unique tech that I could see being useful in inspection, or inventory management apps for an organization.

The pricing is built for internal users, so it’s un-usable for building a public customer facing product, though, which is disappointing.

It’s possible I’d use this for an internal company project, but outside of that scope, it’s not for me.
