Carrd is a super simple, super accessible, super cheap website builder. The interface is in a very easy to use drag and drop format, and most people can get the hang of it in a couple hours. However, outside of a template, it's difficult to start from scratch and building nice-looking designs will take some time.
- All the basics of a typical website builder, and more advanced features like custom code embeds and forms on the paid plans. - Publish to custom domains (on the paid plan) - You get simple, well-recognized .carrd.co domain names for free - A surprisingly effective automatic desktop-to-mobile conversion (basically, almost all websites you build will automatically look pretty decent on mobile too)
Carrd is a great starting point, but it's really only built for one-page websites and landing pages. There are simple ways to effectively create different pages on your site using the "control" feature, but it's not as separate and intuitive as other builders. The design capabilities are also decently limited - as you cannot nest blocks within other blocks - and that can sometimes limit how well you're able to separate and organize your website, if you need to be able to be super specific with things.
Carrd is remarkably cheap, at only $9 per year if you want up to three websites with custom domain names. Then, if you need tools like embeds, google analytics, etc., it's only $19 bucks per year, and you get up to 10 custom sites. The payment plans beyond that are just to give you more sites, but they're still wonderfully cheap! Keep in mind, some of the templates listed here are "premium" templates, and are only available on the paid plan.
